This Startup company is Retro Bio.

Retro Bio is co-founded by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI / Former CEO of Y Combinator, who is personally investing $180M.

Traction: Retro Bio has developed a portfolio of 19 therapies covering a wide range of cells of the human body, and is rapidly moving into trials for its first three therapies: Alzheimer’s, blood, and central nervous system diseases, with a first-in-human Alzheimer’s trial in Q4 2025, and the next two therapies have first-in-human trials happening in Q4 2026.

Retro Bio has already had a major breakthrough showing a 50x increase in efficiency of epigenetic reprogramming. The Net Present Value (NPV) of the first three therapies is $14B, and the broader NPV across its 19 therapies is $50B – $100B+ in revenues.
